We are pleased to announce a Health and Wellness Workshop opportunity for our Grade 7/8 students, to be held June 12, 8:30-12:30pm. The concept links to some of the Healthy Living concepts in the Ontario Health and Physical Education curriculum.

We welcome Leah Robinson, a two-time Paralympian whose philosophy is that everyone fails at one time or another – the trick is to learn from it and move on.

Fiona Roth and Nicole Reid from Interfaith Counselling Centre will speak about healthy lifestyles.

We also welcome Dr. Jen Forristal, a Naturopathic Doctor, founder of The Umbrella Project, and school wellness specialist.

In addition, we are pleased to welcome back former Falcons, from Waterloo-Oxford DSS. These students will share with our Grade 8s, tips for a successful transition to Grade 9, and will also speak with our Grade 7s about making Grade 8 a successful year.

Forest Glen’s very own Mrs. Stubbs and Mrs. Teskey will be conducting workshops on relaxation exercises and drama improv.

Our final presenter, Josh Yandt will speak to our Grade 6-8 classes and to the Grade 6-8 classes from Holy Family School. Josh’s inspirational story challenges us to overcome adversity and to create a positive school environment by being kind to one another and accepting one another for who we are.

Please call Mrs. Borovilos, Mrs. Carter-Hynd, Mr. Peters or Mr. Walkey at 519-662-2830 if you have any questions. We look forward to an inspiring and rewarding day.
