This is the first of a number of contacts that I will initiate regarding the transition process to Grade 9. To date, I have visited each of our Grade 8 classes and provided students with an overview of the differences between the Essential, Applied and Academic streams of study at secondary school. As well, I have outlined the general Ontario Secondary School Diploma requirements. I have also provided information to the Grade 8 classes about System Designated Specialized (Magnet) Programs. Please check the following website for WRDSB Secondary School Program information www.wrdsb.ca/programs

While most of the Grade 8 students from Forest Glen will attend Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary School, the WRDSB offers Magnet Programs that may be of interest and suitable for some of our students. Information about Magnet Programs can be found at www.wrdsb.ca/programs

Representatives from the Integrated Arts Program at Eastwood C.I and the International Baccalaureate Program at Cameron Heights C.I. (both Magnet Programs), will be visiting Forest Glen to meet with Grade 8 students interested in learning more about these programs.

The Integrated Arts Program information meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, from

10:20-11:00am in the Library. Parents are also invited to attend. Please RSVP to Mrs. Borovilos.
