Hello Forest Glen community! The Social Justice Team is busy at work, making a difference in our local and global community.
Members of the community including some of the SJ team are participating in the upcoming Ride for Refuge. If you are interested in participating, please sign up to ride or walk and support to a school in Cairo, Egypt for Sudanese refugees. Contact Mr Peters for more information.
In addition, we have dedicated October to Food Drive month at the Glen. The Social Justice Team will kick-off the food collection next week, with donations up to October 11 going to support the Firebirds in a community food drive. Ritz printing has provided us with 2 shopping carts and SJ team members will be collecting food donations from classes in those carts. On the morning of October 11, an ambulance will arrive at FG and with other schools in Wilmot Township, we will do our part to fill the ambulance for the Wilmot Family Resource Centre. Families will receive a flyer about the Firebirds food drive and each student will receive a ticket to the October 11 Firebirds game.
Our food drive efforts will continue with the campaign, We Scare Hunger.
All food items provided after October 11 and until November 4, will be donated to the Wilmot Family Resource Centre by our school.
