Near the end of last year, we were very fortunate to receive a grant from the Rotary Club of Kitchener Grand River to purchase Drumfit kits for Forest Glen. Drumfit is a fitness based drumming program that combines the mental health benefits of drumming with the overall health benefits of physical fitness. Students are engaged and motivated with the physical activity and are also able to focus better in their classroom learning. It is an inclusive activity that can be engaged in and enjoyed by all. The kits will become an integral part of our Physical Education program, but can also be used in cross curricular areas such as Music, Language and Math.
